musings about tech & miscellanea
Google’s Nexus One
I’ve been using Blackberry’s for years; currently a Tour 9630 on VZW that quickly replaced the Storm 9530 which was disastrous for a touch screen. The iPhone couldn’t match the unparalleled strengths of push email with Blackberry’s, and really couldn’t subscribe to Apple’s closed ecosystem. Plus I like to tinker quite a bit and the iPhone was just too static of a platform.
Google’s Android OS has really blossomed and I’ve been truly impressed, playing with a Motorola Droid for the last couple of weeks. Now the Nexus One is out and coming to VZW this quarter if not weeks, and really looking forward to checking this out. The technology encompassed with the N1 is amazing, noise cancelling tech with its voice processor chip, voice-to-text in any fields on screen, and that 3.7-inch widescreen WVGA AMOLED touchscreen is amazing with its 100,000:1 contrast ratio. The 1 GHz Snapdragon processor makes this the most powerful processor offered to date for this “superphone.”
